Fundraising Ideas

Frequent Flyer Miles: A $25.00 plus $.01/1000 miles fee will allow individuals to deposit frequent flyer miles into your account

Letters to Family: Send out a letter to families you know and ask them to begin depositing birthday or Christmas money that they would otherwise spend on gifts into an adoption savings account you establish.

Adoption High Tea: Host a “tea” with dessert at your home and show a video on adoption (most agencies send you one with your application). Prepare little baskets or bags of tea and ask your friends to “purchase” one for your adoption fund.

Country Cook Book: Put together easy to make recipes from the country from which you plan to adopt and sell them to friends, family, or local bazaars, etc.

Blankets for Babies: Purchase fleece material with baby or child designs from a local fabric or online store. Cut it into small crib blankets. Roll up the blanket and attach a gift tag and pretty ribbon. Include a short description of the status of orphaned children in the county in which you plan to adopt and include an explanation that all the proceeds from the blanket sale will be deposited into your adoption fund. Ask the buyers if they want to donate the blanket to an orphanage. Work with your adoption agency to send the blankets to an orphanage.
